SEN Teaching Assistant

Location:

Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Leeds, Wykebeck, LS9

Job Duties:

The SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers to support pupils with special educational needs. Duties include helping with classroom activities, providing one-to-one support, assisting in creating individual education plans, and helping to manage behaviour and learning difficulties.

Required Qualifications:

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are essential. A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience in a similar role is required.

Education:

A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential.

Experience:

Prior experience working with children or individuals with special educational needs is desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

Good communication skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to work well in a team are essential. Knowledge of different special educational needs and strategies to support them is beneficial.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent would be advantageous.

Working Conditions:

The role involves working within a school setting, collaborating with teachers and other support staff. It may require flexibility in working hours to accommodate the needs of the pupils and the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
