SEN Teaching Assistant – Part Time

Competitive Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour

Teaching Personnel is working with a small, welcoming Ofsted-rated “GOOD” primary school in Lancaster that is seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with Autism, ADHD, and other Special Educational Needs, providing tailored learning and 1:1 support where needed.

This part-time role starts in January 2026, with the potential to become full-time for the right candidate.

Your Role & Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
• Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and IEPs
• Use PECS and other communication strategies for children with speech and language difficulties
• Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
• Work closely with teachers to create an inclusive, nurturing environment
• Support classroom management and behaviour strategies when required

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, and other SEN
• Knowledge of EHCPs and IEPs (preferred)
• Ability to adapt teaching styles for diverse needs
• Based locally in Lancaster or able to commute
• A proactive, compassionate, and dedicated approach
• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
