SEN Support Worker - Lancaster (Temp-to-perm)

Location: LA2
Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Temporary / Permanent
Salary: £13.75 - £14
Start Date: 5th January

We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated SEN Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs 10-17, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with individual learning plans, behaviour plans, and EHCP targets.
• Support pupils during classroom activities, transitions, and break times.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure consistent, effective support.
• Promote independence, positive behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, care, community or personal setting).
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow support strategies and adapt to individual needs.
• Understanding of safeguarding and the importance of confidentiality.
• Relevant qualifications such as Supporting Teaching and Learning, Health and Social Care, or SEN training are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
