Autism Teaching Assistant - Blackpool
Start Date: 1st December | Long-Term Role | £89–£95 per day

Are you passionate about supporting children with autism? Do you have the patience, empathy, and resilience to make a lasting impact in a child’s educational journey?

A mainstream primary school in Blackpool is seeking a dedicated Autism Teaching Assistant to join their team from 1st December. This long-term opportunity offers the chance to work closely with pupils aged 4–11 who require additional support with communication, sensory processing, and emotional regulation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism
  • Deliver tailored interventions such as sensory regulation, emotional literacy, and social communication activities
  • Support classroom routines, transitions, and behaviour management
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Help create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or relevant experience
  • Experience supporting children with autism or additional learning needs
  • A calm, nurturing, and consistent approach
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills
  • Understanding of autism strategies, PECS, visual timetables, or trauma-informed practice is a plus

Role Details

  • Location: Blackpool
  • Start Date: December/ASAP
  • Contract Type: Long-term (potential for permanent placement)
  • Pay: £89–£95 per day (dependent on experience)
