SEN Teaching Assistant in EYFS - Blackburn

Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £9.50 - £11.50 per hour

Start date: Tuesday 3rd September 2019

End date: Friday 24th July 2020 - with a view to be extended

A fantastic long term opportunity has arisen in a Blackburn Primary School. They are in need of a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a child with additional needs. The child is due to start in Reception in September and requires 1:1 support. The role will be to commence from the 3rd September and run for the full academic year and possibly longer. Experience supporting pupils with Behavioural, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs as well as working within the EYFS setting are essential for this role. The Headteacher has expressed an interest in finding a candidate who can be firm but fair and who has experience of working with pupils who require a nurturing approach.

The Head Teacher has highlighted the importance of meeting suitable candidates. On arrival at the School, you will be given a full induction and the time to meet with the class teacher and SENCO to discuss the child's needs further. This will give you an opportunity to discuss routines and strategies you will be able to implement on a daily basis to ensure the child is well supported and makes GOOD progress. The school are currently graded 'GOOD' by Ofsted with 'OUTSTANDING' elements.

The working hours are Monday to Friday - 8:30am-3:30pm. You will be given a 30 minute lunch break and be expected to work 30 minutes assisting with welfare cover at Level 1. The rate of pay would vary from £9.50 - £11.50 based on previous experience.
