Overview
Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a reliable, organised and personable Administrative Assistant to support a busy secondary school in Birmingham. This is a flexible opportunity, ideal for someone looking for full-time, part-time or half-day work within a school environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive school team, playing a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the school office and senior staff

• Act as a first point of contact for parents, visitors and staff

• Handle phone calls, emails and general enquiries in a professional manner

• Support with student records, attendance and data entry

• Use school systems such as Arbor, SIMS and other platforms

• Assist with general office duties, including filing and organisation

• Maintain a welcoming and professional front-of-house presence

Key Requirements

• Previous experience working in a school administration role

• Strong working knowledge of Arbor, SIMS or similar systems

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Confident in speaking with parents, staff and external visitors

• A positive, proactive and professional attitude

• Strong organisation and attention to detail

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Safeguarding & Compliance

• Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one

• Must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
