School Administrative Assistant
Location: Birmingham (Secondary School)
Contract Type: Flexible (Full-time, Part-time, or Half Days)
Overview
Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a reliable, organised and personable Administrative Assistant to support a busy secondary school in Birmingham. This is a flexible opportunity, ideal for someone looking for full-time, part-time or half-day work within a school environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive school team, playing a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.
Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to the school office and senior staff
-
Act as a first point of contact for parents, visitors and staff
-
Handle phone calls, emails and general enquiries in a professional manner
-
Support with student records, attendance and data entry
-
Use school systems such as Arbor, SIMS and other platforms
-
Assist with general office duties, including filing and organisation
-
Maintain a welcoming and professional front-of-house presence
Key Requirements
-
Previous experience working in a school administration role
-
Strong working knowledge of Arbor, SIMS or similar systems
-
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-
Confident in speaking with parents, staff and external visitors
-
A positive, proactive and professional attitude
-
Strong organisation and attention to detail
-
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Safeguarding & Compliance
-
Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
-
Must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
