Job description

Year SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time in Eccles (Starting September 2025)

Teaching Personnel is partnering with a highly regarded, inclusive primary school in Droylsden to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant. This full-time position (8:30am – 3:30pm) begins in September and focuses on providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The school holds an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating and is committed to delivering a broad, balanced curriculum tailored to meet every learner’s needs. You’ll join a supportive team dedicated to helping each child thrive in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted SEN support to pupils individually and in small groups
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering personalised learning activities
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Help create an inclusive, engaging, and safe classroom atmosphere
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to promote pupil development
  • Track pupil progress and adjust support as necessary

What We’re Looking For:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience supporting children with SEN
  • Patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with young learners
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
  • Level 2 Safeguarding certification (or willingness to complete training)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
