SEN Teaching Assistant – SEN Provision – September Start
Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Contract: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent

Are you passionate about supporting children with complex and severe special educational needs? We are working with a specialist SEN school in Chorley that caters for pupils with a wide range of severe and profound learning difficulties.

The school prides itself on providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with their learning and personal development, working closely with experienced teaching staff and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support for pupils with severe SEN.

  • Assist with personal care and sensory needs where required.

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

About You:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with severe SEN is highly desirable.

  • A patient, caring and resilient nature.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

The Role:

  • Start date: September 2025.

  • Full-time, term-time only.

  • Temporary contract with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
