Teaching Assistant – Sports Background
Locations: Bristol, Bath, and Gloucestershire
Start Date: September 2025
Key Stages: 1–4
Daily Pay: £89–£100

Are you a sports coach looking for your next challenge? Teaching Personnel is recruiting its next team of teaching assistants for the 2025/2026 academic year to support students with special educational needs (SEN). These may include mental health challenges, communication difficulties, emotional and behavioural needs, or physical disabilities.

This role is ideal for empathetic, active individuals with strong behaviour management skills. You’ll be working with students aged 5 to 16, playing a key role in both their academic and personal development.


Position Overview

  • Start Date: September 2025

  • Available Across: Bristol, Bath, and Gloucestershire

  • Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (hours may vary by school)

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, term time only

  • Potential to secure a full-time, permanent position for the right candidate


Your Role Will Include

  • Providing tailored support to students with SEN, either one-on-one or in small group settings

  • Collaborating with teachers and fellow support staff to promote student engagement and development

  • Building supportive, trusting relationships with students to help them thrive in the classroom

  • Assisting with academic tasks, classroom activities, and learning interventions as needed


Who We're Looking For

  • Someone with a strong interest in education and supporting young people

  • Confident in managing behaviour and communicating effectively

  • Ideally has a background in sports coaching

  • Experience working in schools is a plus, but not essential—your energy and commitment matter most

  • Any experience supporting SEN or managing challenging behaviour is welcome but not required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
