Pay – £89–£100 per day

Are you a sports coach looking for your next role? Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting the next group of teaching assistants for the 2025/2026 academic year to support and nurture students with special educational needs (SEN). These needs may include mental health diagnoses, communication difficulties, emotional and behavioural challenges, and physical disabilities.

An empathetic individual with strong behaviour management skills is the ideal candidate for this role. You will support students aged 5 to 16 and play a vital role in their academic success.


Position Details

  • Start date: September 2025
  • Work available throughout Bristol, Bath, and Gloucestershire
  • Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (may vary depending on the school)
  • Monday to Friday, term time only
  • Opportunity to transition to a full-time contract with the school, for the right candidate

What You’ll Do

  • Support students with SEN needs, either in small groups or one-on-one
  • Work closely with other teaching assistants and the classroom teacher to support the learning and development of students
  • Build relationships with students, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported in their academic setting
  • Assist with learning activities and classwork, providing help when and where needed

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has a genuine passion for education and is looking to start or continue a career in this rewarding sector
  • Possesses strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Ideally comes from a sports coaching background
  • Experience within a school setting is desirable but not essential – if you have the passion and drive, we’d love to hear from you
  • Previous experience with SEN or challenging behaviour, either personally or professionally, is a bonus but not a requirement
