Flexible SEN Teaching Assistants
Locations: Bristol, Bath, and Gloucestershire
Full-time and part-time positions available
Start date: September 2025
Key Stages: 1–4
Daily pay: £89 – £100

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting the next group of teaching assistants to support and guide students aged 5–16 who have special educational needs (SEN). This may include students with mental health diagnoses such as anxiety and depression, physical disabilities, communication difficulties, and emotional or behavioural challenges.

An understanding, compassionate individual with strong behaviour management skills is ideal for this role. You will support students across a range of ages and play a pivotal role in their academic journey.


Position Details

  • Start date: September 2025
  • Locations: Work available throughout Bristol, Bath, and Gloucestershire
  • Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (may vary depending on the school)
  • Monday – Friday, term-time only
  • Opportunity to transition to a full-time, permanent contract with the school for the right candidate

What You’ll Do

  • Support students with SEN, either in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering the school’s tailored curriculum
  • Collaborate with other teaching assistants to support student learning and development
  • Build trusting relationships with students, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported in the academic setting
  • Help with learning activities and classwork, providing assistance as needed

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has a genuine passion for education and teaching, and is looking to begin or continue a rewarding career in the field
  • Possesses strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Experience is desirable but not essential — if you have the passion and drive, we’d love to hear from you
  • Previous experience with SEN or challenging behaviour (professionally or personally) is a bonus but not a requirement
