Locations: Bristol, Bath, and Gloucestershire
Start Date: September 2025

Pay: £89–£100 per day

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting the next group of teaching assistants for the 2025/2026 academic year to support and nurture students with special educational needs (SEN). These needs may include mental health challenges, physical disabilities, and emotional or behavioural difficulties. An understanding and empathetic personality is a key requirement for this role. You will support students aged between 5 and 16 and play a critical role in their academic success.


Position Details:

  • September 2025 start date
  • Work available throughout Bristol, Bath, and Gloucestershire
  • 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (hours may vary depending on the school)
  • Monday to Friday, term time only
  • Opportunity to transition to a permanent contract with the school for the right candidate

What You’ll Do:

  • Support students with SEN, either in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
  • Work closely with other teaching assistants to support classroom learning and development
  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering the school's tailored curriculum, ensuring students stay focused and engaged
  • Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Build trusting relationships with students, ensuring they feel safe and supported
  • Assist with learning activities and classwork, providing help as needed

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience with SEN or challenging behaviour (professionally or personally) is highly desirable, but not required
  • A genuine passion for education and teaching—whether continuing a previous role or starting a new career
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Experience in an educational setting is desirable, but not essential—passion and determination are what matter most
