About the Opportunities

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work in specialist settings across Reading, Berkshire. You will play an important role in supporting students whose SEMH needs are at the centre of a personalised approach.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

• Work directly with students aged 11–18 with SEMH needs in a supportive environment.

• Support pupils both 1:1 and in small groups to build confidence, resilience, and independence.

• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and a dedicated multi‑disciplinary team.

• Be part of a school community that celebrates progress, promotes emotional regulation, and encourages every child’s personal development.

• Access a range of roles, including full‑time positions or flexible day‑to‑day work.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from psychology graduates and others who are:

• Passionate about making a difference for children and young people with SEMH needs.

• Empathetic, patient, and resilient, with the ability to build positive relationships.

• Eager to learn and develop professionally in a supportive and collaborative environment.

• Experienced in working with children, whether in formal roles or through volunteering.

• Able to obtain an Enhanced DBS (or already hold one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
