Job description

I am working with a specialist behavioural unit in York, who are seeking to employ a Primary SEN Teacher, to work 1:1 with two children with complex and additional needs. The students require personalised learning plans, which you will be responsible for planning and tracking their progress. The pupils needs include learning difficulties, autism and social, emotional and behavioural needs, so if you have experience within this field, it would be advantageous.

The School are based in the Fulford area of York and in their February 2017 OFSTED, were graded as 'Good'. The Senior Leadership Team is very supportive and motivating, promoting a positive learning environment. The School have students in from 0845 to 1430 daily, with most staff staying until around 1500 for staff meetings and a daily review.

As the ideal candidate you will need to hold the following qualifications and personality traits:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • A Degree related to the Education Sector
  • Proven track record of increasing attainment levels via SATs boosters or Phonics sessions
  • Be able to provide a stable 6 year career history and reference details
  • Be open minded and charismatic
  • Have a positive outlook and actively promote positive, hands on learning

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
