Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
We have an excellent opportunity for a willing teacher with SEN experience preferred. The position is initially to be on a temporary basis, however there will be scope for the role to be extended and continued going into the September return. The students have a range of learning difficulties, so if you are not someone with SEN experience, possessing a patient, tolerant and understanding nature will be highly beneficial. The students are often from deprived backgrounds, primarily with behavioural and learning difficulties, in addition to problems with their social, emotional and mental health. The school care intensely about equality and the learning opportunities of their students, always desiring passionate and engaging teachers to maximise the potential of their students. The ideal candidate should be able to start as soon as possible and the education centre is based in the Grimsby area. We require the following:
• Qualified Teacher Status with extensive experience with pupils with SEN.
• A specialism in working with pupils with SEN (desirable)
• Team Teach training (desirable)
• A commitment to supporting SEN pupils in achieving their optimal potential
• An understanding of how to adapt lessons to assure that learning is accessible to all pupils
• The ability to demonstrate the right necessary experience and your passion for helping vulnerable children with a range of difficulties.
The appropriate candidate will be able to show confidence and resilience when interacting with the students there. A background in criminology and previous relevant experience would be highly beneficial to your application too. The main responsibility of the successful candidate will be intervening when these difficulties arise and guiding the pupil accordingly to help them understand the causes and consequences of their actions.
