Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant wanted in St Austell on a day to day supply basis.

Location: St Austell

Our Specialist SEN branch here at Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a school in the St Austell area and are looking for the perfect SEN Ta to work with them. The schools are looking for a day to day supply learning assistant to support them in and around the classroom. This role has the potential to become a long term role for the right candidate and could see you working throughout the academic year to provide the best level of education for the student.

This is a fantastic opportunity for psychology graduates, youth workers, Sports coaches, residential support workers and experienced individuals who are passionate about working with SEN children. Any other relevant experience or qualification will be considered so please do get in touch if you think you would be an excellent candidate.

Your duties will include:

  • Assisting the students with daily tasks set by the teacher
  • Supporting the teacher with their lessons
  • Building up a good rapport between the pupils and yourself
  • Managing the classroom when needed under direction of the teacher
  • Supporting children with SEN ranging from mild to severe.
  • Working alongside the designated SENCO
  • Assisting small groups of children and even 1:1

  • Recent experience working within an education sector
  • A passion for teaching
  • An enthusiastic approach to education
  • Hold relevant qualifications
  • Have under gone relevant training
