Job description

 SEN Teaching Assistant (KS1) 

 Location: Cleveleys, Lancashire

 Start Date: September 2025

Do you have experience supporting individuals with special educational needs—whether in a school, care, or community setting? Are you patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping children thrive?

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cleveleys is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 pupil on a 1:1 basis starting this September.

 Your Role:

  • Provide 1:1 support to KS1 pupils with additional needs (e.g., Autism, SEMH, communication difficulties)
  • Adapt learning activities to suit the pupils’ individual needs and pace
  • Build trust and encourage emotional regulation, communication, and confidence
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
  • Help create a calm, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment

✅ What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting individuals with SEN (in any setting)
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3) is desirable but not essential
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
