Down’s Syndrome Support Teaching Assistant – Lytham St Annes

 Location: Lytham St Annes, Lancashire
 Type: Full-Time
 Setting: Primary School

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of children with Down’s Syndrome? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school team in Lytham St Annes, providing essential 1:1 support to a pupil with Down’s Syndrome.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the individual needs of a pupil with Down’s Syndrome
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plans and engaging activities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and academic development
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor progress
  • Assist with personal care tasks when required, ensuring dignity and comfort
  • Encourage participation in classroom routines and wider school life

✅ Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with Down’s Syndrome or other special educational needs
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to individual needs
  • Relevant qualifications or SEN training (desirable but not essential)
