Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of children with Down’s Syndrome?
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school team in Poulton-le-Fylde, providing essential 1:1 support to a pupil with Down’s Syndrome.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the individual needs of a pupil with Down’s Syndrome
- Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plans and engaging activities
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and academic development
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor progress
- Assist with personal care tasks when required, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Encourage participation in classroom routines and wider school life
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with Down’s Syndrome or other special educational needs
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to individual needs
- Relevant qualifications or SEN training (desirable but not essential)
