SEN Support Assistant (Schools)

Teaching Personnel are currently supporting a small, catholic primary school in central York with their recruitment for a specialist SEN support worker to join their school from September 2019.

With the new cohort of pupils arriving this September, our client school are looking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant to support Early Years pupils who require additional support as they transition into school life.

The school is a small, catholic primary school with a friendly team of staff and supportive senior leadership.

Your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • 1:1 support for SEN pupils
  • Liaising with the SENCO, staff and parents to help best support the pupil
  • Supporting in the EYFS department

The ideal candidate will hold an education based or Teaching Assistant qualification and be passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs. Ideally, you will have experience supporting challenging pupils and be able to generate new ideas to help pupils progress.

Team Teach or Moving and Handing qualifications would be highly beneficial. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and attend these courses if not.
