Job description
Teaching Personnel are working with Special Needs schools in the Portsmouth area to recruit Qualified Teachers and Learning Support Assistants. We work with schools who cater for Primary ages, as well as Secondary ages.
Role Responsibilities:
Teachers:
-
Deliver engaging, SEND-focused lessons that are tailored to pupil needs
-
Assess, track, and report on pupil progress
-
Work closely with LSAs and the wider school team to support children’s learning and development
-
Contribute to a safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Maintain and uphold safeguarding procedures and protocols at all times
Learning Support Assistants (LSAs):
-
Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups
-
Assist Teachers in delivering lessons and managing the classroom
-
Support children with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs
-
Help create a nurturing and inclusive environment
- Maintain and uphold safeguarding procedures and protocols at all times
Who We’re Looking For

Qualified teachers (QTS or equivalent)
-
Experienced LSAs or teaching assistants
-
Candidates passionate about working in SEND settings
-
Must hold an enhanced child-only DBS or be willing to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
