Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work within a schools supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding role where you will make a positive impact on young people, who require help with emotional regulation, relationship building, and setting boundaries.

The Role

  • Work on a one-to-one and small group basis with pupils who have SEMH needs.

  • Support pupils with managing emotions, behaviour, and developing positive relationships.

  • Assist with adapting learning to meet individual needs.

  • Collaborate closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide a safe and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young adults who struggle with emotional regulation and building relationships is essential.

  • Ability to drive is highly desirable.

  • Must have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one.

  • Availability between 8:30–16:00 (hours may vary slightly day-to-day).

  • Passion, patience, and strong resilience when working with young people facing emotional challenges.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
