SEN Primary Teacher- Part time (2.5 days a week) Enfield
Teaching Personnel are currently partnered with an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' special school based in Enfield. The school caters to students who have an EHCP statement of Autism, with most students having varying speech and language abilities from non-verbal to high-functioning, fully verbal students.
They are now looking for a new teacher to join the team from February half-term to replace a long-standing member of staff who is moving out of London. The position will be teaching across primary years in class sizes of approximately 8 students with the aid of 3-4 teaching assistants. You will be working heavily with PECS and Makaton so prior experience and training in this is highly desireable.
Students are of mixed ability so the successful candidare must be flexible and be able to adapt and plan lessons that are engaging and inclusive for students of all abilities. Good knowledge and understanding of the primary curriculum is essential although the school uses a largely sensory curriculum which you wlll be trained in throughout the post.
Th position is for 2.5 days per week (Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings) with the possibility of additional hours/days for the postholder if they so wish in the future. This post will be until at least the end of th 2020/2021 academic year however the view is for the postholder to become a permanent member of staff with the school and continue into the next accademic year.
The ideal candidate must:
-Have Fully Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (Unqualified teachers will not be considered for this role)
-Have experience teaching SEN Primary years
-Have experience teaching students with Autism and complex needs
-Be available Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings (8.30-12)- these are set days and cannot be negotiated
-Be approachable and flexible
-Have experience planning and delivering lessons
Teaching Personnel will be responsible for clearing you for work andd conducting all vetting checks before your interview with the school. All school interviews will be carried out virtually on Zoom so please ensure you have a device that can access video calling.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
