SEN Learning Support Assistant (Autism)

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a Support Worker/SEN Learning Support Assistant to support children with autism spectrum disorder. This will be in a specialist educational Special Needs provision for primary aged pupils.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of care, both on a 1-1 basis or 2-1 basis. You must have previous experience supporting autism in some capacity, alongside a working knowledge of safeguarding rules and regulations. The school would ideally look for a full-time member of staff but may have some part-time roles available.
The role:
- Support autistic students in your care to complete day-to-day tasks
- Ensure all personal care needs are met
- Follow care and education plans set to specific individuals
- Support the class teacher, as and when directed
The successful candidate:
- Will have experience supporting children or adults with ASD
- Will be aware of all safeguarding regulations and expectations in a school setting
- Will have genuine compassion and a want to adequately support the students in your care
- Experience supporting in a school environment is preferred but not essential
- Team Teach and/or Makaton training desirable
