SEN Intervention Teaching Assistant (Primary)

Job description

We are currently looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly and supportive team in one of our great mainstream Primary schools in Hammersmith, to work one-to-one and with small groups, providing Literacy and Numeracy support to children with special educational needs.

The ideal candidate :
You must be willing to provide help and support to children with Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Social and Emotional Mental Health and Learning Difficulties. Your role will consist in assisting the class teachers with children in need of additional support mainly in Maths and English. Any certificates or qualifications related to Special Needs and/or Education in general along with experience working in an educational setting (from Early Years to Year 6) is preferrable but not compulsory. You must also be in possession of a Child (only) Workforce DBS (registered on the Update Service) or be willing to apply for one (full assistance provided).

This position is well suited for a creative, compassionate, caring and patient candidate with a good behaviour management, willing to develop their knowledge in the education and special needs sector. We highly recommend for graduates who are willing to make a career in education to apply. The role is a full time and long term position (Monday to Friday, school hours) to start after the Christmas Holidays. You must be available to interview asap.
