A primary special needs school in Swinton is looking for teaching assistants that have the flexibility to work at short notice. This school provides specialist education for pupils aged 2 to 11 years all of whom have profound, complex and challenging needs. A large number of pupils have an autistic spectrum disorder. Some of the pupils have physical difficulties whilst others may have a language disorder or have a general developmental delay. All the pupils have difficulties accessing education and need to work in smaller class groups with a high level of specialist staff from Education, Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and the School Nursing Service. The ideal candidate would be qualified to level 2 or 3 in a relevant subject and have experience of supporting SEN pupils.
