SEN Care/Support Job Plymouth
A Plymouth based school is currently looking for candidates to join their team, supporting students within the classroom and on activities. The school is looking for candidates that are caring, supportive and willing to get stuck in and help students. The role will entail the support of every day activities, care for students and helping the learning in and out of the classroom. The school caters for students that are Primary/secondary and older, so the ability to adapt and work with different ages is preferable. The work has the potential to be a full time contracted position, however at the start it may be the case of working on a temporary basis, so candidates can demonstrate ability and the school can see how you adjust in.
The ideal candidate:
Candidates who have a background in care and the support of students with physical/server learning difficulties are strongly encouraged to apply. Also backgrounds in SEN education and support, outdoor education with SEN and roles where you have worked in 1:1 or small group support are great. As the role is demanding, you will be responsible for the daily support of students in the classroom and also in activities you do around the school and on days out. Candidates that have experience in other areas, such as Makaton, team teach, MAPA etc., are encouraged to apply also. Qualifications in education are also preferable, e.g. NVQ's in education with children and social work.
