SEMH Teaching Assistant required

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a School in Yeovil who cater for students who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Many of the students have had to overcome significant difficulties in their lives and have struggled to succeed in other educational establishments; in some cases, they have been regarded as unteachable.

The School use their detailed understanding of every child’s personalised needs so that they can best equip them with the skills and values to ensure a successful transition to adult life.

We are looking for a passionate, motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work in partnership with teaching and other educational support staff. You will provide learning support for pupils, working with them as directed by teaching staff within a structured teaching situation or individually as required in accordance with academy policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have a good standard of education and will have experience of working with children in an SEMH school environment, with knowledge of specific learning difficulties and a variety of strategies to support children.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
