This role of SEN Teaching Assistant is perfect for an outstanding Psychology Graduate who wants to progress into educational psychology, clinical psychology or those who might want to become a fully qualified teacher!
Educating students who have been diagnosed with MLD, EBD and Autism this school aims to provide relevant and engaging pathways for their pupils. They foster and encourage positive attitudes towards every aspect of school life and support pupils in developing and fulfilling their own ambitions and aspirations.
Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant
This SEN Teaching Assistant post requires a hard working Psychology graduate who has earned a second class degree or better and previous experience working with SEN children either in a volunteer or paid role. You should possess the confidence to take on new duties and the confidence to quickly overcome disruptions to your day. The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have a passion for education and no problem staying late to help with after school activities.The perfect candidate will be able to ensure that their students are receiving enough encouragement to stay focussed and achieve well.
You will guide SEN students through the curriculum and you will lead independent 1:1 session and group activities outside of class. Your SEN Teaching Assistant duties will include supporting the learning of students in classes throughout the school and developing under the mentorship of a SENCO.
