Job description

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs?

Teaching personnel are currently working with a Pupil Referral Unit in Bury to find a compassionate Teacher for a KS3 classroom. Within this role, you would be covering a variety of core GCSE subjects alongside teaching social, emotional skills, independence and life skills.

Responsibilities:

-          Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons across various subjects within the GCSE curriculum

-          Create a supportive environment where students feel valued, respected and motivated to learn

-           Manage challenging behaviour effectively

-           Develop and implement individualised learning plans and interventions

-           Collaborate with colleagues, parents and other support staff to provide holistic and individualised support for each student

-           Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and behaviour

The ideal candidate will:

-          Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

-          Experience in teaching young people with SEMH needs and adapting learning materials for each child

-          Strong understanding of GCSE curriculum and confidently teach cross multiple subjects

-          Have knowledge and experience working with challenging behaviours

-          Knowledge of SEMH strategies, interventions and suitable practises

-          Ability to work with and lead a team of teaching assistants

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
