Job description

We are seeing qualified and eager Teaching Assistants to work in one of our SEMH secondary schools in the Salford area. You will play a vital role in supporting students with complex behavioural challenges and Social, Emotional and Mental health needs. This is a rewarding role where a passion for learning and rapport building is paramount.

What you will be doing

-          Working with and supporting the class team to create a safe and nurturing learning environment

-          Building rapport with students

-          Providing 1:1 support to students to aid in their learning and emotional regulation

-          Utilising behaviour management and de-escalation strategies using a calm and positive approach

-          Upholding safeguarding practices to ensure that the welfare and wellbeing of young people is kept.

You’re a great fit if you have

-          Prior experience working with young people with SEMH/SEN needs

-          Fantastic communication skills

-          Ability to support challenging behaviour with an empathetic and nurturing approach

-          Great teamwork skills

-          Ability to build strong rapports with students and staff

Requirements

-          Up-to-date DBS which is on the Update service

-          UK right to work

-          Past employment references (2 years)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
