Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Primary School in the Morley area of Leeds (LS27) who are looking for a caring and passionate teaching assistant who is experienced in supporting children who have special needs to work alongside 1:1 a Year 2 child who has Social, Emotional Mental Health Issues and who displays challenging behaviour.
This is a full time and permanent position with the school and is due to start ideally from 2nd November 2020. The child started at the school in September and has now received funding for a 1-2-1 Support Assistant.
A successful candidate will have the right attitude alongside some experience in order to meet the demands of the role supporting the the child. You must be committed to building a trusting relationship with the pupil, so you can successfully encourage her to participate in learning. The school welcomes those who have experience working in SEN schools, with a pro-active and engaging personality.
The selected candidate would need to have the Team Teach qualification. If you do not have this Teaching Personnel are running a course over the half-term break which you would need to attend.
The Head teacher is looking for someone who can understand the needs of the child and support their learning. This role would involve meeting the child and the Head Teacher in the first week back after the October half term.
The successful candidate will be working full time hours 8:30am-3:30pm and must be available to work as soon as the children return to school after half term.
Candidates applying for this role MUST have previous experience working on a 1-2-1 basis with Special Needs children in the last 12 months and this MUST be evidenced in your CV. If you do not have this experience your application will be rejected.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
