Job description

Support Staff Member – SEN/SEMH Provision

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Support Staff Member to join a specialist SEN/SEMH provision, supporting pupils across a range of year groups. This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, punctual, and hardworking, with a genuine passion for helping young people reach their full potential.

About the Provision:

  • The school caters for children and young people with special educational needs and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.

  • Pupils may present with complex needs and require tailored support to help them engage positively in education.

  • Staff play a vital role in providing both academic and emotional support, helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and life skills.

The Role:

  • Support pupils across year groups in the classroom and during wider school activities.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.

  • Provide both academic and pastoral support, adapting to the individual needs of each pupil.

  • Act as a positive role model, encouraging independence and engagement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A dependable and dedicated individual with strong punctuality and reliability.

  • Hardworking, flexible, and willing to adapt to the varying needs of pupils.

  • A genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs.

  • Experience in SEN/SEMH settings is desirable, though full training will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
