Job description

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Additional Needs)
Location: Rawtenstall
Hours: 8:50 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour (dependent on experience)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs at a welcoming and inclusive school in Rawtenstall.

Role Overview:
As an Additional Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support students with a range of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, Autism, and physical disabilities. A key part of this role will involve personal care, so candidates must be confident and comfortable with providing this level of support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with additional needs

  • Assist with classroom activities, helping students to access the curriculum

  • Deliver care routines, including toileting and personal care

  • Monitor and report on student progress to teaching staff

  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN or additional needs

  • Confidence and capability in delivering personal care

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) is desirable but not essential

  • A current DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
