Additional Needs Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full-time, Temp to Perm (for the right candidate)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:50am – 3:30pm
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
Location: Rawtenstall
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Additional Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming school team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of pupils with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide in-class support to individuals or small groups under the guidance of the teacher

Assist with the delivery and evaluation of planned learning and care activities
-
Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing, providing feedback to teaching staff

Promote pupil independence, inclusion, and understanding of instructions

Support behaviour management strategies and help keep pupils engaged
-
Assist pupils with personal care needs, including toileting, hygiene, dressing, and feeding
-
Work alongside therapists and care professionals to deliver specialist programmes

Safely use and maintain specialist equipment (e.g. hoists, sensory resources)

Help prepare and tidy learning environments and resources

Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain strict confidentiality
This role may involve physical support, including lifting or repositioning pupils with mobility needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
