Additional Needs Teaching Assistant

Contract:
Full-time, Temp to Perm (for the right candidate)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:50am – 3:30pm
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
Location: Rawtenstall

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Additional Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming school team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of pupils with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support to individuals or small groups under the guidance of the teacher

  • Assist with the delivery and evaluation of planned learning and care activities

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing, providing feedback to teaching staff

  • Promote pupil independence, inclusion, and understanding of instructions

  • Support behaviour management strategies and help keep pupils engaged

  • Assist pupils with personal care needs, including toileting, hygiene, dressing, and feeding

  • Work alongside therapists and care professionals to deliver specialist programmes

  • Safely use and maintain specialist equipment (e.g. hoists, sensory resources)

  • Help prepare and tidy learning environments and resources

  • Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain strict confidentiality

This role may involve physical support, including lifting or repositioning pupils with mobility needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
