SEMH Special Needs Teaching Assistant Needed

Job description

Teaching Personnel is working closely with an innovative and forward-looking Medway school, which provides education for students who primarily experience complex learning difficulties and disabilities which may include speech, language, emotional, behavioural, sensory, physical or autistic spectrum secondary disabilities.
The school includes a day special school, a specialist ASD section and a Post 16 Further Education Centre.
We are looking for extraordinary SEN Teaching Assistants. As a successful candidate, you will:
- Offer experience of working with children with special educational needs, whether this is within a mainstream school, a specialist school or other child centred environment
- Have the ability to easily adapt your style to varying requirements of the students within the class
- Are able to support on both a small group and one-to-one basis
- Can offer experience of working with other professionals
To be able to offer specialist SEN skills such as moving & lifting, PECs, Sign-a-long, Makaton, feeding and personal care would be desirable.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
