SEMH Behaviour Mentor needed in Thirsk

Are you an aspiring Social Worker with excellent interpersonal skills?

A truly wonderful provision for students aged between 5 -11 is looking for three SEMH Behaviour Mentors.

The SEMH Behaviour Mentor role will see the successful Behaviour Mentor provide academic, social and emotional guidance, advice and be a role model mentor for students currently in Key Stage 1 -2 within the provision.

The Head Teacher is looking to appoint up to three SEMH Behaviour Mentors ASAP in February 2019.

SEMH Behaviour Mentor, Thirsk - The Person:

• MUST be a graduate from a reputable University - 1st Class or 2:1 degree
• Ideal opportunity for an aspiring Social Worker or an aspiring Support Worker
• SEMH Behaviour Mentors needs to have a strong character and be highly personable
• The ability to remain composed and diplomatic when faced with challenging behaviour
• Team player mindset, level-headed, common sense and logical

SEMH Behaviour Mentor, Thirsk - The Role:

• Offering academic, social and emotional support & guidance to SEMH students in KS1 and KS2
• Working closely (and reporting to) the Senior Leadership Team
• Working in-class, alongside the SEMH Class Teacher, in small groups or 1:1
• Full-time, long-term, ASAP from February 2019!!
• £70-£80 per day

SEMH Behaviour Mentor, Thirsk - The School:

• A brilliant and well-run provision for students from KS1-KS2 with SEMH difficulties
• Located very close to the local overground satiation
• Secure onside staff car parking is available

To be successful within this role the SEMH Behaviour Mentor absolutely will need to be calm, composed, approachable, personable and, above all, someone who can earn the respect of students who can often display very challenging behaviour.
