Secondary Teaching Assistant

Secondary Teaching Assistants required for full and part-time Teaching Assistant roles starting in September.

Our client secondary school, located in the Hindley area of Wigan are currently seeking to bolster their team of support staff ahead of the new academic year starting in September 2019.

Whilst the majority of roles will be starting in September, their will also be immediate working opportunities for the remainder of this academic year.

Teaching Assistant

  • Secondary Teaching Assistant- Full and Part-time roles available
  • Competitive pay for this role with earning potential of up to £1250 per month.
  • Working closely with identified students in a mainstream classroom environment.
  • Support to be offered from teaching staff and an experienced pastoral team
  • Experience is preferred but not essential

The schools Pastoral Manager wishes to meet with interested candidates at their earliest convenience in order to successfully build a team of support staff who will have the opportunity to work regularly through the 2019/2020 academic year.

The incoming Teaching Assistants will be responsible for supporting the class teacher throughout their lessons, helping them to set-up the classroom and assistant students with their work to ensure that everyone understands the work that is being set. It will be the responsibility of Teaching Assistants to help reduce cases of low level disruption, ensuring that students remain engaged throughout the class and are completing the work that has been set by the class teacher.

Graduates are encouraged to apply for this role and will have the opportunity to lead small group or 1:1 intervention sessions within their specialist subject.

It will be of huge advantage in support of an application for this role if the incoming Teaching Assistant has experience working alongside students that are aged 11-16, with SEN requirements or children that come from challenging backgrounds.

Our client Secondary school is slightly larger than the national average with approximately 900 pupils on roll currently. Located between Hindley and Westhoughton, the school is just a short drive away from the A577 and has an abundance of public transportation links to surrounding areas; Bolton, Salford and Wigan.
