Secondary Teacher and Cover Supervisor Role- Diss
About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and confident Teachers and Cover Supervisors to join our network of secondary schools across Diss. As a Teacher/ Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences by delivering pre-prepared lessons and managing classroom behaviour. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with prior classroom experience who are passionate about education.
Key Responsibilities
- Takes/ Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with the provided work.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support students with their learning where possible and encourage engagement.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and classroom activity.
Requirements
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Confidence to manage groups of young people aged 11–16.
- Ability to follow lesson plans and ensure learning continues in the teacher’s absence.
- Previous experience working with young people (in schools, youth groups, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring) is desirable.
- A degree or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential.
- Must hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check, ideally on the DBS Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
