Secondary School Sports Coach – Full-Time | Porth (CF39)
£89.38 per day / £13.75 per hour
Key Stage 3 & 4 (Ages 11–16)
Are you a confident, energetic individual with a passion for sport and motivating young people? A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Porth is looking for a Sports Coach to join their team, supporting pupils through physical activity and positive mentoring.

Your Role:
In this role, you’ll work closely with staff to help engage students, especially those who struggle in the classroom using sport and activity-based interventions. Your day-to-day will include:
- Supporting PE lessons and extracurricular sports activities
- Running small group or 1:1 sessions focused on teamwork, fitness, and confidence-building
- Using sport to engage pupils with low motivation, challenging behaviour, or low attendance
- Helping maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
- Acting as a mentor to students who benefit from structure, discipline, and encouragement
Who are we looking for?
We’re keen to hear from individuals who:
- Are enthusiastic, active, and passionate about inspiring young people
- Have experience in sports coaching, youth work, mentoring, or fitness training
- Can build strong relationships and act as a positive role model
- Are confident working with students who may present behavioural challenges
- Can motivate and support young people through practical, movement-based sessions
Previous school experience is welcome but not required – if you’ve coached, led sports clubs, or worked with young people in any setting, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Need:
To work in this role, we’ll support you in getting:
- EWC Registration (Learning Support Worker category)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or help you apply for one)
- Two recent references from relevant roles
