Job description

My priority Secondary SEMH School in Bolton are seeking a Teaching Assistant who has pervious experience of supporting young people who display challenging behaviours. The school caters for pupils who have education health care plans.


  • Knowledge and experience of delivering workshops and training for young people
  • Experience of developmental work with young people
  • Experience of supporting participatory, young person led group work
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluating programmes
  • Can evidence partnership/multi agency working
  • Experience of working in the youth sector
  • Experience developing and building strong relationships with young people

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of issues affecting young people
  • Understand the need to ensure young people are involved in decision making and are represented at all levels of engagement
  • An understanding of the purpose and methods of youth work delivery
  • Confident in facilitating a group of young people on their own.
  • Understanding of health and safety.
  • Flexibility/adaptability.
  • Negotiating skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
