Supply SEN Teaching Assistant
Shepton Mallet, Somerset | Immediate Start

A highly regarded specialist provision in Somerset supporting children and young people aged 4–18 with Education, Health and Care Plans.

The school provides both primary and secondary education in a nurturing, structured and inclusive environment.

Pupils have:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

  • Asperger’s Syndrome

  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs

  • Associated social and emotional needs

The setting is known for its dedicated and enthusiastic staff team, personalised curriculum and strong focus on meeting pupils’ emotional, social and physical development. Staff work collaboratively to create a safe, predictable environment where learners build confidence, independence and essential life skills.

 

The Role

  • Supply position with flexible hours based on school needs

  • Part-time or full-time opportunities

  • Typical hours 8.30am - 3.30pm

  • Immediate start available

  • Supporting across primary and secondary phases

  • Providing classroom support and 1:1 assistance

  • Supporting behaviour, communication and differentiated learning

This is a varied and rewarding role suited to resilient, adaptable and compassionate individuals.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months childcare experience

  • Essential experience supporting children with SEN needs

  • Confident, patient and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
