SEN Teaching Assistant – Bank Staff
Frome, Somerset | Immediate Start Available

Located in a beautiful rural area on the outskirts of Frome, this specialist provision is set within extensive grounds and offers a calm, structured and highly supportive learning environment.

The school caters for children and young people aged 6–19 with:

  • Asperger’s Syndrome

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

  • Associated communication and interaction needs

  • A range of learning difficulties

With both primary and secondary provision available, the setting is committed to creating a safe, predictable and nurturing environment where pupils can build confidence, develop independence and achieve meaningful progress. Staff work collaboratively to promote positive behaviour, self-belief and life skills, ensuring every young person is supported to reach their full potential.

 

The Role

  • Bank position with flexible hours to suit school needs

  • Part-time or full-time opportunities

  • Typical school hours 8.30am - 3.30pm

  • Supporting across key stages, including secondary work

  • Working alongside the class teacher to support learning and behaviour

  • Acting as a positive role model and responding to individual needs

We are seeking adaptable, resilient and committed individuals who can build strong, professional relationships with pupils and staff.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months childcare experience

  • Essential experience supporting children with SEN needs

  • Patient, empathetic and proactive approach

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
