Job description

 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time (37.5 Hours per Week)
Frome, Somerset | Immediate Start

An exceptional specialist provision in Frome dedicated to supporting children and young people aged 6–19 with additional needs. The school is widely recognised for its nurturing environment, high staff-to-student ratios and personalised learning approach.

Pupils attending the setting have: Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Associated social communication and interaction needs

The school provides both primary and secondary provision, with structured routines, therapeutic support and a strong focus on preparing students for adulthood. Staff are passionate, supportive and committed to ensuring every learner thrives both academically and emotionally.

 

The Role

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

  • Working hours 8.30am - 3.30pm

  • Assisting with learning, behaviour support and emotional regulation

  • Encouraging independence and positive engagement

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months childcare experience

  • Essential experience supporting children with SEN needs

  • Patient, resilient and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
