Are you an experienced and passionate teacher of English, looking for a new opportunity in 2019?

A diverse school in the heart of Portsmouth are welcoming applicants for an English KS3 and KS4 teacher. This popular and energetic schools English department is looking for you to join them in January 2019 or sooner through until the end of the academic year. This is a school proud of their multi-national and multi-faith communities that ensure their pupils leave as well rounded students equipped with the qualifications they will need to be successful.

The English department has a successful record of improving pupil outcomes and supporting students through to the end of KS4, which was noted as "rapidly imporving" with pupils making great progress in their latest OFSTED report. Teaching is of high standard alongside the monitoring of students understanding, delivery of booster sessions and interventions to improve attainment across all abilities.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the values and ethos outlined by the school
  • Contribution to the schools Innovative English department
  • Creating an honest and open working relationship with staff
  • Complying and supporting the schools safeguarding policies
  • Maintaining high professional standards
  • Have a sense of responsibility for the students progress and attainment
  • Provide regular feedback allowing students to react and respond
