Science Teacher
Tameside, Manchester

  • Salary: MPS/UPS (23,720 - £39,406)

Teaching Personnel have an opportunity for an exceptional Teacher of Science who is dedicated and keen to join our partner school's hard working and approachable Science department. Our partner school is located in Denton, Greater Manchester just a short drive from the M67. Access is straight forward to the surrounding areas and is easily accessible via the Metrolink tram and also bus routes. It is a co-educational secondary school with places for around 1300 pupils aged 11-16. The successful Science teacher will join the department in January 2019 and will cover a temporary period of absence until July 2019.

The successful Science Teacher will be an outstanding teacher with high expectations. They will have the ability to motivate and inspire staff and pupils alike and possess the necessary drive and determination to bring about rapid and sustained improvements in teaching and learning. They will be responsible for managing a full time table leading Key Stages 3-4 Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Planning, marking and monitoring classwork will be involved as well as reporting back to senior leadership within the department.

In 2012, the school opened a brand new purpose-build site. The schools new building offers an array of modern facilities including a music suite, drama studio and activity gym. The school provides a dynamic and deep curriculum with the intention of ensuring that all pupils are given the opportunity to explore a variety of subjects. In their most recent Ofsted inspection (2015) the school was judged as 'Good' in all areas including effectiveness of leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare and outcomes for pupils.
