Are you passionate about science and eager to inspire the next generation of scientists? Do you thrive on creating dynamic and engaging lessons that ignite curiosity and foster critical thinking?

We are currently seeking two enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teachers to join our partner Academy in Weston-super-Mare on a full-time, permanent basis. As a Science teacher at this academy, you will have the opportunity to instill a love for scientific inquiry and exploration while helping students develop essential skills for success in the field of science and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering innovative and hands-on Science lessons that captivate students' interest and encourage active learning.
  • Planning and implementing curriculum-aligned activities and experiments to enhance understanding of scientific concepts.
  • Assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and supporting individualised learning needs.
  • Cultivating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to ask questions, explore ideas, and collaborate with their peers.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices, develop interdisciplinary projects, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Science department.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialisation in Science.
  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with a passion for sharing your expertise with students.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex scientific concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • Previous experience in teaching Science at the secondary level is desirable but not essential.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to participate in training opportunities to enhance teaching practice.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
