Here at Teaching Personnel, we are looking to recruit a Teacher of Science (any specialism) to join one of our successful partner schools in the Sunderland area. The school itself is thriving and oversubscribed, only 20 minutes' drive from both Newcastle and Durham. It has a major focus on staff and pupil wellbeing, with a dedicated student support team alongside a strong staff support system.

The role will be teaching Science to Key Stages 3&4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on the candidate's knowledge and experience - the ability to teach Key Stage 5 is preferable. Initially for one term, the role could continue on longer for the right candidate.

The Role

  • Science Teacher role starting January 2021
  • Teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience (any subject)
  • Full time role on a temporary basis (ending July 2021) with the opportunity to earn a permanent contract
  • Earn up to GBP180 per day, depending on your experience and responsibilities
  • All science specialisms welcome from Biology, Chemistry or Physics

Requirements for the Role

  • Must have QTS and experience teaching Science to GCSE
  • Willingness to take on some intervention groups and booster sessions 
  • Strong behaviour management with experience working with SEN pupils a preference 
  • Will have excellent subject knowledge and a desire to provide the best education to pupils
  • Will be required to apply for a Child Workforce DBS, if you do not already have one on the update service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
