Preston Secondary School Full-Time | January 2027 Start

A welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Preston is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join their successful department on a full-time basis from January 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated teacher to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and practical lessons that develop creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical knowledge.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality Design & Technology lessons, creating a positive learning environment, and supporting students to achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Teaching Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on student progress.
• Creating a safe and stimulating workshop environment.
• Supporting students of varying abilities to achieve positive outcomes.
• Contributing to the wider life of the school and department.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Has experience teaching Design & Technology within a secondary school setting.
• Demonstrates strong classroom management skills.
• Has excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Design & Technology.
• Can motivate and engage students across a range of abilities.
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
