Science Teacher
South Manchester

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of Science to join our award winning partner school in South Manchester. Due to a staffing need within the schools Science department, there is now a vacancy for a full-time Science teacher to join our partner schools Science department from February 2019 until the end of the academic year. Whilst this will start on a temporary basis in the first instance, our partner school wishes to appoint for a permanent member of staff and therefore has the potential to become permanent for the successful applicant.
We are looking for a Science teacher with energy, subject knowledge and creativity to inspire our partner schools students. We are looking for a highly motivated and talented practitioner who is committed to raising the expectations and achievement of all students. The successful Science teacher will be responsible for teaching KS3 and GCSE Science across a range of ability groups.
The school welcomes applications from experienced teachers or teachers who are new to the profession. A newly qualified teacher will receive excellent support from both Teaching Personnel and the schools internal Academy CPD programme. The successful Science Teacher will join a positive willing and committed team who will support the successful teacher throughout the role.
Our partner school is part of a multi-academy educational trust with an ongoing commitment to opening and running academies with a high level of achievement in the Manchester area. Their Trust Partners include some of the most successful and innovative companies in the UK, all of whom have a strong commitment to Manchester. Their involvement in the Trust underlines their commitment to developing the young people of the city, and their recognition that to recruit excellent leaders from local families they have to be committed to their development prior to them becoming employees.
In their most recent Ofsted report our partner school was graded as a 'Good' school. The school was judged as good in all areas including leadership and management, behaviour and safety of pupils, quality of teaching, achievement of pupils. The schools sixth form provision was also graded as good.
